Mr. Danny “Dan” Watson, age 58, of the Pleasant Gardens Community, passed away on the evening of Monday, March 02, 2020 at his residence. The son of Robert “Bob” and Bea Bailey Watson of Marion, he was born in Orlando, Florida on July 15, 1961.
Dan, also known as “Dan the Campground Man”, along with his family, owned and operated Buck Creek RV Park for 27 years. He enjoyed meeting and greeting campers from all over. An entrepreneur and a pillar of the community, Dan loved to ride motorcycles, especially sport bikes, remote controlled airplanes, cars; or anything that had an engine.
He is survived by, in addition to his parents, his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Ann Marie Watson; three sons, Joshua Watson, Justin Watson and his fiancé, Brittney Friddle and Jeremiah Watson; three siblings, Kathy Watson Shook, Richard Watson and Beverley Watson; two grandchildren, Carter and Caleb; several nieces and nephews; many special friends; and his canine companion, “Snow Belle”.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 07, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Pastor Brian Bird and Col. Erik Gilbert (Retired United States Army) officiating. Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
