Daniel "Danny" Orlan Guffey

Daniel “Danny” Orlan Guffey, age 42, of Marion, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville, following a brief illness. A native of McDowell County, born April 16, 1975, Danny was the son of Ronald Frank Guffey (Barbara) of Junction City, Kansas and Kathy Faye Williams Poole of Marion, North Carolina.

Danny enjoyed playing video games and was a fan of Batman, but he truly loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Darrell Guffey (Shannon), Travis Guffey (Elizabeth), Chris Bolen (Cindy) and Richard Bolen; and one sister, Angela Burleson (David). He is also survived by his companion, Tammy Byrd; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Going Home Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating.  Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
