Danica Ellen Hoffman Stam Freeman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 13, 1967. She passed away at her residence on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Stam, Amanda Stam and Kristina Stam, all of Murray, Utah. She had two grandchildren, Stephanie and Mayla of Murray.
Also surviving are her parents Kenneth and Carole Hoffman of Marion; her brother, Kenneth Jr of Marion, and sister Lisa Hoffman of Sacramento, California. Two aunts, Barbara Broadwell, and Cecilia Kellam, of Marion, as well as numerous cousins also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd (Trey) Freeman of Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away in 2017.
Danica was a gentle, loving, creative, independent woman. She spent her life caring for her family, friends, pets, and home. She was a thrift store junkie, and would spend hours searching for that classic look in clothing and home furnishings.
She also loved technology. Her computer was the large PC kind; laptops held no interest for her. She had her favorite computer for gaming; and both she and her late husband were avid gamers.
She moved to Marion from Salt Lake City in 2019 because of health issues and a desire to be closer to her family in North Carolina. It was wonderful to have her closer to us for the last year of her life. We miss her so much!
It is difficult for us to imagine a normal world without Danica, our wonderful Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Cousin, and Friend. It seems that our tears will never stop.
In keeping with Danica’s wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be taken back to Utah where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband.
