Dan Stainbrook

Dan Stainbrook, age 82, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.  Born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 07, 1937, he was the son of the late Dan Stainbrook and Josephine O’Toole Hancock.

An avid outdoorsman, Dan was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  Following his service, he attended Kansas City University where he graduated in 1964 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  Dan was employed with The International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) where he was able to travel the World. Mr. Stainbrook had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs. 

He is survived by his wife, Maureen Murphy Stainbrook; two sons, Doug Stainbrook (Andrea) of Kansas City, Kansas and Craig Stainbrook (Dina) of Marion, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Zach Stainbrook (Molly) and Evie Stainbrook; one great grandson, Jasper; and one great grandchild due in March 2020. 

A celebration of Mr. Stainbrook’s life will be held at a later date.
