Dan Brown

Dan Brown, age 76, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Joseph Campus in Asheville. A native of McDowell County, Dan was born September 6, 1941 to the late Dewey and Helen Turner Brown.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one son, Michael Brown and one daughter, Michelle Brown.

Dan was a member of Lackey Town Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially mowing his lawn. He was known as a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Paulette Brown; four children, James Grogan (Renee), Keith Grogan (Sheila), Paula Robertson (Ronnie) and Dewayne Grogan (Sheila). Also surviving Dan are seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Lackey Town Missionary Baptist Church.  A funeral service to celebrate Dan’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Brandon Robertson officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Lackey Town Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
