Damien Gonzalez

Damien Gonzalez, age 40, of Nebo, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord while at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, following a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, June 30, 2017.  Born in San Antonio, Texas on October 31, 1976, he was the son of Tina Hernandez of Nebo and the late Rudy Gonzalez. 

Damien, who had a talent for art, was a tattoo artist and loved working with older trucks.  His children were his whole world. 

He is survived by, in addition to his mother, two children, Karina Lee Gonzalez and Damien Lee Gonzalez, Jr; one sister, Christina Rodriguez; and one brother, Rudy Gonzalez. 

A service to celebrate the life of Damien will be held on Monday, July 03, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
