Cynthia Padgett Straughan

March 4, 1966 — March 21, 2024

Marion

In the early morning hours, Thursday March 21, 2024, our Beloved Cynthia Padgett Straughan cast aside her earthly bruised and battered body to arise and be carried to her new eternal home in the Heavens with her Precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and Loved ones gone before!

Born: March 4th 1966 to Vina Eller Padgett and the Late Harold Dean Padgett. Preceding her to the Glory of Heaven are her maternal grandparents: Rev. Joe and Georgie Eller; and her paternal grandparents: Tally and Jaunita Padgett.

Those left to cherish her memories are her Mother, Vina Padgett. Her son, Dustin Straughan (Katie) and her two precious grandbabies Jayden and Jordyn Straughan, whom Cindy loved with all her heart. They will always be her babies that she had an eternal love for.

Brothers: Scott Padgett ( Lisa ), Greg Padgett (Crystal). All of her dearly loved nieces and nephews. Aunts: Shula and Carrie Padgett, Wanda Parker, Betty Eller.

Lifetime Bestfriends Jamie Burnette, Leisa Ricketts. Plus many other cousins and friends.

Cindy was like a 2nd mom to many: Brent, Daniel, Danielle, Lucas, Misty, Shasta, Whitney.

Educated at Marantha Christian Academy, Cindy went on to be a missionary and had several mission trips to Guadalajara, Mexico.

She enjoyed a prime time in her life filled with friends and finding joy homeschooling her son to graduation. She was a supporter of St. Jude and other Christian Ministries.

Cindy was a Member of Old Fort Church Of God where she delighted in teaching Sunday School and directing the Christmas Plays, until she was not physically able to attend.

In the past years Cindy had a decline in health that made her eventually confined to a hospital bed at Swannanoa Valley Health and Rehabilitation where she made so many friends that turned into family for her. We would like to give them a special thanks for making it a home away from home for Cindy.

We would also like to thank the staff of the ICU team at Mission in Asheville for their hospitality and kindness they showed us in the last weeks of Cindy's Life here on Earth. We know that her body fell asleep but her soul awoke in Heaven.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
