Coy Mace, age 80, peacefully passed away into the arms of his Savior on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, Coy was born August 15, 1936 to the late Roy and Gertrude Price Mace. Coy was preceded in death by his two sons, Dean and Wesley Mace.
Mr. Mace was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. He was known for being a hard worker and was the owner of Coy Mace Septic Tank. He was a kind hearted man who loved visiting the sick and shut ins. Coy was a wonderful husband, daddy, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Coy leaves behind his loving wife of sixty two years, Dorothy Brown Mace; three daughters, Becky Silver (Larry) of Nebo, Jo Cox (Glenn) of Marion, Kim Boone (Jeff) of Morganton and daughter in law Patricia Mace; two sisters, Katie Mosley and Faye Waldroup. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Coy’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church with Reverends Ray Stockton and Larry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm one hour prior to the service at the church.
