Cora "Bay" Lou McKinney

On the evening of Monday, May 30, 2022, Cora “Bay” Lou McKinney passed away at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. A native of McDowell County, Cora was born on August 14, 1924 to the late Samuel and Jenny Brown McKinney.

She is preceded in death by twelve of her siblings.

Cora enjoyed working in her garden and loved helping raise many of her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her snuff and tobacco, but mostly she loved the Lord and reading her Bible.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews who she helped raise.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Brother Greg Withrow officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at the Old McGee and McKinney Cemetery in North Cove.
