Connie Kay Stroupe Hurt, 67, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at her home.
Connie was born February 14, 1956 to Vera Bailey Stroupe and the late Robert Samuel Stroupe.
She worked for many years in manufacturing, and she worked the longest at Ethan Allen. She loved her family and friends, especially her grandkids, more than life itself. She was a very outgoing lady who loved cooking and baking. Connie was an avid music lover and a fan of true crime television, butterflies, horses, make-up, and jewelry. She enjoyed being in the outdoors, and she truly enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the ocean. More than anything, she loved the Lord.
In addition to her father, Robert Samuel Stroupe, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Eugene Hurt, Sr.; stepson, Ronnie Eugene Hurt, Jr.; and brother, Rudy Stroupe.
In addition to her mother, Vera Bailey Stroupe, she is survived by her son, Brian Stroupe; two stepchildren, Angie Hurt Owensby (Donald “Fuzzy”, deceased) and Terry Hurt (Danielle); three grandchildren, Ashley Dawn, Skylar Grace, and Shyann Abigail-Leigh; seven step grandchildren; one great grandchild, Greyson Cole; seven step great grandchildren; her sister, Judy Quinn (Jim); nieces and nephews, Doug Quinn, Shelly Hughes (Midget), Carla Thomas (Joe), and Robbie Stroupe; seven great nieces and nephews; and five great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two who she considered as sons, Roger Brown and Greg Brown.
In accordance with her wishes, a private interment will be held at Sky View Memorial Park in Asheville where Connie will be laid to rest beside her father. A gathering of friends and family in her memory will be held at a later date.
