Cody Hardy

Cody Hardy, age 38, passed away on Sunday, May 19,2019 at Memorial Mission Campus in Asheville, North Carolina. A native of McDowell County, North Carolina born on May 6, 1981. He was the son of Ealfounza and the late Drucilla Hardy.

Cody was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Samuel and Mary Avery, Henry and Minerva Beard.

Cody enjoyed fishing, and was known for making people laugh, he loved all people in general.  Cody had a big heart and was a wonderful story teller.

Along with his father, Ealfounza and his step mother Jeannie, Cody is survived by two step children, Victoria Effler and Matt Effler; siblings, Demethria Hardy, Terrell Hardy (Christina), Donaiel Allen (Eris), Michelle Freeman (James), Dawn Lynch ( James), Gabriel Avery; step siblings, Barry, Doug, and Anzell Burgess; aunts, Jimmie Wilkins (James), Beverly Carson, Catherine Bernard ( Theston), Gracie Jackson, Shirley Lynch ( Don), Mildred Littlejohn and Vida Blocker; great aunts, Ruth Swepson, Joyce Ann Pertiller; uncles, Paul Avery and Kenneth Avery; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service to honor Mr. Hardy will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Interment will follow at McDowell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
