Clyde Eugene Williams, age 75, of Marion, NC went Home Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the presence of his cherished family at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.
Mr. Williams was born the fourteenth day of the fifth month of forty-two in McDowell County, NC to the late George Clarence Williams and Cora Belle Johnson Williams. He retired from Drexel Furniture and worked for McDowell County at The Greenlee Convenience Center, for the last ten years. Mr. Williams never met a stranger and loved people. He especially enjoyed breakfast with “the boys”. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Lowery and one brother, George Emory Williams.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 57 years, Wilma Brown Williams; three children, Rhonda Smith, Danny Williams (Martha) and Holly Goforth (Steve); one sister, Edna Duncan; one brother, Donald Williams; five grandchildren, Miranda Taylor (Bill), Matthew Taylor (Meghan), Gwen Revis (Adam), Melissa Smith and Ashley Williams (James); nine great-grandchildren, Duece, Alex, Zoey, Silas, Reagan, Adley, Lilly, Makayla, Isaiah and a baby boy due in May.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Lackey Town Missionary Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM at the church with Rev. Jeffrey Parker and Rev. Ray Stockton officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
