Claude Junior Russell

On the morning of Friday, February 23, 2018, Claude Junior Russell, age 58 passed away unexpectedly at his home in Nebo.  A native and lifelong resident of McDowell County, born on June 24, 1959, he was the son of the late Charlie and Sally Mae Finley Russell.

He is also preceded in death by one sister, Dollie Buchanan; and one brother, George Taylor Russell.

Claude adored spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren; and enjoyed riding motorcycles with family and friends. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy Russell; one son, Matt Russell; one daughter, Jillian Russell; three brothers, Charles Buchanan (Joanie), Richard Buchanan (Kay) and Billy Buchanan; and one sister-in-law, Roberta Russell.  Claude is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Aiden Russell, Kadence Russell, Hannah Presnell, Bella Owens and Teagan Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Tim Biddix officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 01, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at McDowell Memorial Park.
