Chris Malcolm Yarbrough

Chris Malcolm Yarbrough, 77, of Old Fort, NC, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 15, 2021, after several years of declining health. A loving husband and father, Chris was a vital and respected part of the community. He was a member of New Manna Baptist Church, served as a town alderman, and was a Boy Scout leader. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, as well as the Scottish and York Rite.

Chris is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter Katherine of Johnson City, TN; stepson Tim Fletcher and wife Nikki of Fountain Inn, SC; sister Mary Alice Frost and husband James of Asheville, NC; two step-granddaughters and a step-great-granddaughter; two nieces; and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Albert and Sarah McDowell Yarbrough, and son Robert.

Graveside services will be held at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville, NC on January 23, 2021, at 2 o’clock.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to New Manna Baptist Church in Marion, NC.
