Chester Ned Trantham

Chester Ned Trantham, age 90, passed away on October 15, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Haywood County, North Carolina on August 7, 1932, to the late Homer Jasper and Lizzie Mae West Trantham.

Chester was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working in the garden, fishing, raising his chickens and also riding through the mountains on the Parkway. Chester mostly enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Louise Lavender Trantham; three children, Mark Alan Trantham (Sharon), Neil Wayne Trantham (Tammy) and Denise T. Jones (Colby); five grandchildren, Jonathan Trantham (Jessica), Nathan Trantham, Noah Jones, Cade Jones and Micheal Frick and two great grandchildren, Kamdyn Trantham and Jaylen Burton.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., at Beam Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dean Owenby and Danny Lavender officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from, 1:00 p.m.– 2:00 p.m. Entombment will take place at McDowell Memorial Park following the service.
