Charles Harold Trinks

Charles Harold Trinks, age 92, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the McDowell Hospital.  The son of the late John and Mattie England Trinks, he was born in McDowell County on February 24, 1924.

An avid hunter and gardener, his greatest pleasure was sharing the produce he gathered out of his garden with his friends and neighbors.  Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of West Marion Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by, in addition to his parents; one son, Charles Wayne Trinks; and one daughter, Wanda Trinks.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Wilma Louise Trinks; two sons, Steve Trinks (Karen) and Stan Trinks; one brother, Larry Trinks; two sisters, June Serpas and Opal Clontz; four grandchildren, Marc, Amanda, Ami and Kathy; four great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Jan Trinks.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Revs. Dale Cable and Marc Gold officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
