Charles Orville Ponder

During the evening hours of Friday, March 27, 2020, Mr. Charles Orville Ponder of Mars Hill, North Carolina passed away at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Born on December 05, 1934 in Madison County, he was the son of the late Orville Ponder and Savada Barrett Ponder.

Charles had a love for working on older model cars, and was a friend to many who will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his five children, Robert Turner, Linda Boone (Teddy), Annette Ponder, Charles Ponder (Cindy) and James Ponder (Debra); four sisters, Janet Banks, Audrey Tollison, Brenda McIntosh, and Eula Higgins, as well as two brothers, Anthony Ponder, and Doug Ponder. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at California Creek Cemetery with Reverend Shane Cassidy officiating.
