Charles Pittman, age 73, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his home. Mr. Pittman was born April 4, 1944 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late Floyd and Josie Wheeler Pittman.
Charles, known as a hard worker, enjoyed the outdoors. He loved going to auctions and equipment sales. Charles had a natural gift for trading. He liked gospel music and watching westerns. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed dearly.
Left behind to cherish Mr. Pittman’s memories are his wife of fifty years, Shirley Pittman of the home; three children, Tina Pittman, Trina Warren and Charles Pittman and wife, Beth; five siblings, Hazel Hensley, Sylvia Vess, Margaret Elliott, Frances Parker (Howard) and Cecil Pittman; five grandchildren, Ashley Penland (Steven), Leandra Parker, Ethan Pittman, Hunter Pittman and Addison Pittman. Also surviving Charles are two great-grandchildren, Christian Bartlett and Kayden Stroud; a host of nieces and nephews and his good friend Kirt Lunsford.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Old Fort Wesleyan Church. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Reverends Jeff Parker and Donnie Massingill officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bethlehem Community Cemetery.
