Charles Jones, Sr.

Charles Jones, Sr., age 73, of Newland, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his residence. A native of Avery County, Charles was born on May 13, 1944 to the late Jessie James and Amelia Franklin Jones.

Charles attended Mountain View Church and loved fishing and hunting. He especially loved boating.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia “Jenny” Jones; three children, Charles Christensen Jones, Charles Lee Jones, Jr. (Dorcas) and Jamie Jones (Angie).  Also surviving Charles are four brothers and seven sisters; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A service to honor the life of Charles will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Mountain View Church with Reverend Jude Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
