On April 8th, 2025, Charity Jule “CJ” McCauley passed away suddenly in her home in Asheville, North Carolina. She was the baby of the family, born July 27th, 1992, in Morganton, North Carolina, to her parents Larry and the late Shaneah McCauley.
Charity was a beautiful woman with long, fiery red hair, cream-colored skin, emerald eyes, and a lithe, graceful stature. She was a charming and highly creative soul, intelligent and with a razor-sharp wit. She got the greatest pleasure from making others laugh, which she did often. Charity knew pain and heartache, and from that, she developed a big heart and desire to help others. She worked in the service industry and aspired to earn a degree in law or social work to help others on what she considered a deeper level. A gifted photographer, she endlessly took pictures of those she loved and almost always had a camera in her hand. She enjoyed music, film, literature, poetry, and art of all genres and, from a young age, had a great fondness for cats.
A romantic at heart, Charity longed to find the great love of her life. She found the most genuine and purest love in her beautiful son Kendrick, who was the absolute joy of her life. She will be remembered for her limitless, beautiful love and devotion to her son.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Shaneah Ross McCauley, and maternal grandparents, Jack and Ruth Ross.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son, Kendrick McCauley; her father, Larry McCauley; her sister, Aleigha West (Ryan); her brother, Caleb McCauley; her aunt, Jenna Ross Taylor; her uncle, Brad Taylor; three nieces: Caylin, Charleigh, and Sophia; two nephews, Max and Noah; cousins Ara and Brielle; boyfriend Elbis; special friends Amanda and Maggie; and many more family and friends who will love and miss her tremendously.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the East Marion Community Church with Reverend Andrew Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a NC 529 plan for her son Kendrick “Ricky” McCauley. https://backer.com/Kendrickscollegefund465
