Cecilia "Beth" Elizabeth Crawford

Cecilia Elizabeth (“Beth”) Crawford smoothly transitioned into her Savior’s open arms on April 26, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. Beth suffered with Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease throughout her entire life, but severe pneumonia proved more than she could overcome.

Beth was an accomplished individual who downplayed her health struggles, was kind to everyone, and had the personality to bring people together. She was a graduate of McDowell High School, Western Carolina University, and did graduate work at both Gardner Webb University and Montreat University. She was always a valued employee in any of her places of employment, including McDowell County Schools, Old Fort Elementary School, NCNB, and The Peninsula Country Club. Most recently she worked with her husband in his business (On Call 24/7) in Davidson.

She was beautiful and funny with a million dollar smile which always lit up any room she entered. She was loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband Darron Keitt and her fur baby (and constant companion) Emmitt; mother Sherron Crawford and step-father David Ricketts of Nebo, NC; father Jim Crawford and step-mother Freda Crawford of Burkesville, KY; sister Jill Crawford (Xerxes) of Healdsburg, CA and a special aunt and uncle Jim and Ginger Phythyon of Franklin, NC.

Preceding her in death are grandparents Frank and Edith Griggs of Old Fort, NC; George and Margaret Crawford of Franklin, NC.

Beth loved flowers and her husband made sure she always had flowers to enjoy. Beth was also a very generous person who had a heart for all those in need. If you feel so led, please choose a church or charity of your choice for memorials in Beth’s memory. St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, was one of her favorites. She would be honored by any contribution to those in need.

Celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church on Main Street in Marion, NC, on Monday, May 1, at 2:30pm with the receiving of friends 1:00 – 2:30pm. Interment will follow at Cherry Springs Memorial Park in Old Fort, NC.
