Cecil Ray Surrett

Cecil Ray Surrett, 63, of Marion, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at his residence.

Cecil was born in Haywood County, NC, to the late Mary Lane Williams and Cecil Surrett. He was married to his wife of nearly 37 years, Mona Diane Riddle Surrett. Cecil was a mechanic who enjoyed fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with is grandchildren. Cecil was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Surrett and Charlene Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Mona Surrett; six children, Billy Surrett, Beth Vess (Josh), Angel Compton (Kenny), Jessie Compton (Brad), Joshua Riddle (Danielle), and Joseph Riddle (Stephanie); a sister, Susie Surrett; a brother, Dale Surrett; twenty-one grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a special uncle & aunt, Leroy & Annette Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
