Carroll L. Toney

Carroll L. Toney, age 87, of Marion, North Carolina, departed to be with the Lord on the night of Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehab in Black Mountain.  His loved ones was by his side.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born December 08, 1931, he was the son of the late Daniel and Lula Suttle Toney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharron Lynn Toney; three brothers; and one sister.

Carroll enjoyed NASCAR and watching basketball, especially if UNC Tar Heels were playing.  A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Toney was also a member of the Mystic Tie Lodge #237 A.F. & A.M. in Marion; and was a member of First Baptist Church of Marion. 

Left to cherish is memories are his loving wife of 64 years, Lucille Reel Toney; and numerous nieces and nephews, who were all special to him. 

A celebration of Carroll’s life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Dr. Scott Hagaman officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
