Carolyn Welch

Carolyn Maddox Welch, age 86 of Marion, departed from this world on the morning of Saturday, August 03, 2019. Born on June 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bully Maddox and Vera Clyde Pope Maddox.

A member of the Marion Moose Lodge, she loved sewing and quilting. Carolyn enjoyed many things in life, but the one thing that brought her the most joy was spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Welch Sr.

Left to cherish her memories are her two children, George “Tommy” Welch Jr. and Carol Welch Wilson (Bob); two sisters, Margaret Craft and Flay Houston. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Kevin Wilson (Jodie) and Karen W. Pruett; six great grandchildren, Carmen, Eva, Cagney, Cullen, Zoe and Mia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 07, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Following the funeral service, an interment service will be held on Friday, August 09, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved George.
