Carolyn Marie Silver

Carolyn Marie Huskins Silver, age 73, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Monday, June 3, 2019 at her residence. Born on November 8, 1945 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late George Huskins, Sr. and Marie Honeycutt Huskins.

She is preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Kay Gobble; her siblings, George Avery Huskins, Jr., Bobby Huskins, Jimmy Huskins and Linda Silver.

Carolyn was a longtime member of Maranatha Baptist Church and was a pastor’s wife for over forty-five years. She served the church in many capacities and was known to have a servant’s heart. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty-six years, Pastor Dean Silver; one son, Billy Dean Silver; her siblings, Betty Hughes (Johnny), Sabra Jones (James) and Ronald Huskins (Wanda). Also surviving Carolyn are a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Silver Chapel Baptist Church in Mitchell County.
