Carolyn June Ledford

     Carolyn June Edwards Ledford, 86, of Marion, went to her Heavenly Home Saturday, February 4, 2023, at her residence.

     Carolyn was born in McDowell County, NC to the late Carl Edwards and Mamie Hollifield Edwards. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Carolyn enjoyed baking cakes and making candy. She especially enjoyed making fudge. Carolyn was always willing to help others in need. She was a very special mother, grandmother, mother in law, sister, and friend.

     In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Ledford; and a brother, Don Edwards.

     Those left to cherish her memory include two children, Deborah Ann Carver (John) and Roger Dale Ledford (Shelia); a sister, Joyce Gurley; a sister in law, Wilma Edwards; two grandchildren, Sherry Ledford and Travis Ledford; six nieces; two step grandchildren, Jeff Carver (Sharon) and Barbara Davis (Larry); four step great grandchildren; and six step great great grandchildren.

     A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Pastor Leo Kuykendall and Dr. Tom Walker will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

     The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. Flowers are appreciated, but memorials may be made to Gideons International.
