Carolyn Elizabeth Elliott

In the early morning hours of Monday, August 01, 2016, Miss Carolyn Elizabeth Elliott, age 68, of Marion, North Carolina, while at the SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County, passed away peacefully.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on August 06, 1948, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Edwin “Pee Wee” and Selma Gregory Elliott.

A loving sister, aunt, niece and friend, Carolyn was an avid knitter and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and many different types of crafts. She was a lifelong member of Story Memorial Presbyterian Church in Marion.

She is survived by one brother, Warren “Sam” Elliott (Mary) of Athens, Georgia;  one sister, Margaret Plemmons (Tim) of Marion, North Carolina; three nieces, Patti Plemmons of Marion, North Carolina, Jessica Johnston (Dean) of Athens, Georgia; and Emily Elkins (Kenny) of Marion, North Carolina; two great nephews, Kaden and Kamden Elkins; and one aunt, Ruth Elliott of Marion, North Carolina.  Carolyn is also survived by her beloved dog, Scruffy, who she had rescued. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 03, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Story Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Stevens officiating.  Interment will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, at the church.
