Carla R. Wilson

Carla R. Wilson, 65, of Marion, departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Catawba County on December 10, 1959 to the late Carlos Eugene Wilson and Mary Sessoms Wilson.

Carla graduated in 1981 with a nursing diploma. She spent a number of years working as a nurse, primarily at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine. Her commitment to her profession was evident through the compassionate care she provided to her patients, making a lasting impact on the lives she touched. Her dedication to nursing was matched only by her love for her family. She cherished her grandchildren immensely and spoke of them often, taking great joy in their accomplishments and milestones.

Beyond her professional life, Carla was an avid sports enthusiast. She had a particular fondness for NASCAR, passionately following the races, and was an unwavering fan of Wake Forest Basketball. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Amanda Blake (John), Ashley Broome (Wes), and John Al Harrison (Cory); eight grandchildren, Jasper, Asher, Parker, Cassidy, Gideon, Kenton, Emma, and Maxx; and her brother, Joe Wilson (Laura).

In accordance with her wishes, the family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
