Carla Tate Carson

Carla Genelle Tate Carson, age 46, of Old Fort, North Carolina passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Memorial Campus. A native of McDowell County, Carla was born on April 24, 1975 to Larry Tate, Sr. and the late Brenda Hill Tate.

Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother Larry Ray Tate, Jr. and one sister, Angela Tate.

Carla was known as a loving and giving person, who was always doing for others. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She will be missed by everyone.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of twenty-three years, Martin Carson, Jr.; step-son, Antonio Lowrance; siblings, Lori Ledbetter, Shemay Ledbetter, Timothy Dickey, Terrell Dickey, Kelia Dickey, Renee Tate, Michael Tate, Corey Tate, Brandon Tate and Quria Tate. Also surviving Carla are a host of nieces, nephews and many special friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Carla’s life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Elder James Stokley officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at McDowell Cemetery.
