Carl "Claydee" Randolph Ledford

Mr. Carl “Claydee” Randolph Ledford, age 75 of Lake Lure, North Carolina, passed away during the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills SECU Inpatient Unit. The son of the late Charles Ledford and Bertha Burnette Ledford, he was born in McDowell County on April 27, 1944.

An avid hunter and fisher, Carl loved to tend to his garden and loved to play and spend time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Peggy Ledford of the home; three children, Monty Pyatt (Jessica) of Mobile, Alabama, Benjamin Ledford (Samantha) of Lake Lure, Michael Ledford (Brandy) of Rutherfordton; a sister, Linda Reed of Old Fort; a brother, Wade Ledford of Asheville; six grandchildren, Kelsey Nicole Yelton, Gavvin Lovelace, Gage Ponder, Dean William Gabriel Ledford, Bella Pyatt and Montiraye Pyatt. He also leaves behind three great grandchildren, Joseph Lovelace, Avery Ponder, and one on the way, Jace Lovelace.

A funeral service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held on Thursday, August 15, at 2:00 P.M., at Montford Cove Baptist Church with the Reverend Shawn Berryhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the church.
