Calvin Monroe Pyatt

Calvin Monroe Pyatt, age 77, of Nebo, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. A native of McDowell County, Calvin was born on August 30, 1940 to the late Major and Beatrice Crawley Pyatt.

Calvin was a long-time member of Nebo United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. He was a United States Army Veteran. Calvin was known to enjoy doing handyman chores and always tried to help others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-three years, Carol Beam Pyatt; two children, Julie Pyatt Biddix and husband Richie, Greg Pyatt and wife Donna; four siblings, Cline Pyatt and wife Jo, Jean Pyatt, Dean Pyatt and wife Sheila and Cathy Pyatt Morgan. Also surviving Calvin are his four grandchildren, Trey and Sydney Biddix and Emma and Brady Pyatt.

A funeral service to celebrate Calvin’s life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Nebo United Methodist Church with Reverend Rich Magnuson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
