Buddy Sheehan

Buddy Sheehan, age 81, of Marion, while surrounded by his family, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation in Nebo.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on January 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Clarence and Nora Sheehan.

Buddy, being unable to walk, will be remembered for going around the neighborhood at an early age in his Radio Flyer wagon and seeing his many friends and selling candy.  He was a man who touched a lot of lives during his life time. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Wilma Fairchild, Ruth Sheehan and Mary Ellen Sheehan; and two brothers, George Sheehan and Marshall Sheehan.

Left to cherish Buddy’s memories are two sisters, Betty Davis and Jewell Surratt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Steve Beam and Rev. Marvin Hollifield officiating.  Interment will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation and Hospice of Burke County for the care they provided for Buddy and his family during his declining health.
