Bruce Edwards

Bruce Edwards, age 80, of Marion, NC passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at McDowell Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Bruce was born February 15, 1938 in McDowell County to the late Frank Arnold Edwards and Elizabeth Gleen Edwards.  He retired as a machine operator for the NC DOT and was a member of Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Oleta McMahan Edwards on December 9, 2017 and his daughter, Terry Lynn Edwards.

Left behind to cherish Bruce’s memories are three grandchildren, Kristina Carter and husband, Gary, David Ellison and wife Stephanie and Rebecca Ellison; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Ellison, Adriana Blizzard, Elizabeth Blue and Terri Blue; one great great grandson on the way, Mason Gray Radford; one sister, Mary Hollifield; and two brothers, Howard Edwards and wife, Martha and Wayne Edwards and wife, Donna.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in the chapel of Beam Funeral Service.  A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Woods officiating.
