Brother Jun Rodrigo, Jr., 62, of Casar, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at his residence.
A native of the Philippines, Jun was born March 4, 1963 to Luzvminda Victorino Rodrigo and the late Demetrio Mogue Rodrigo.
Bro. Jun began his ministry in the Philippines in 1985, and later came to the United States in 2009. He started the Philippines for Christ ministry in 2013 under Refuge Baptist Church in Marion, North Carolina, pastored by Ronnie L. Gentry. He was known for his preaching that was filled with passion and excitement. He loved sharing the love of Christ with all he came in contact with. Aside from his spiritual labors, Bro. Jun enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joann Rodrigo; four children, Jasmin Kirby (James), Deanne Galvez (Michael), Francess Grace Simbi (Nole Simbi, Jr.), and Stephen John Rodrigo (Karen); eight grandchildren, Michael Gentry Galvez, Aethan King Ave, RJ Hunt Galvez, Jacob Laggui, Jabez Laggui, Cirilla Grace Simbi, Jun Travis Galvez, and Hannah Kirby; and four siblings, Edwina Pinpin (Arnold), Ricky Rodrigo (Rina), Ruth Alforja (Joel), and Melissa Rodrigo.
The family will receive friends for viewing on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Yancey Street Baptist Church, located at 302 E. Yancey Street in Marion, North Carolina. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Ronnie Gentry and Rev. Lloyd Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Casar, North Carolina at 124 Casar Methodist Church Road.
