Brian "Scott" Livingston

Brian “Scott” Livingston, age 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, August 04, 2021 at his residence.

He was born in Cook County, Illinois on December 22, 1954 to the late Jack Livingston and Mary Rooker Plunkett.

Having lived in High Point for many years, Scott and his wife relocated to Marion in 1996. He was a licensed general contractor and thoroughly enjoyed his work building houses. Scott will be remembered as being an “old hippie,” a title he loved and embraced throughout the years. He also enjoyed playing music on the guitar as well as collecting rocks and gems and whittling. Scott’s love for his children was great, and he also deeply loved his mother, who passed away earlier this year.

He is also preceded in death by his brother, David Alan Livingston; and his stepfather, Jerry Plunkett.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janet May Livingston; five children, Corinna Sky Love (Phillip), Julie Melissa Kiser (Steve), Amber Marie Livingston-McCraw (Jamie), Sara Joy McFarland (Matt), and Jacob Scott Livingston; a stepson, Ronald Lee DiOrio; eight grandchildren, Calvin, William, Matthew, Cassie, Emaleigh, Ryleigh, Alija, and Gavin; two great grandchildren, Cole and Carleigh; one sister, Annie Benton (Lee); and a stepbrother, David Plunkett.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
