Brenda Joyce Tyo

Brenda Joyce Tyo, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Jonas Ridge Adult Care.

A native of McDowell County, she was born March 07, 1943 to the late Clevie Tyo and Evelyn Rash Tyo.

Brenda began her career as an RN in 1984, and she worked at Broughton Hospital for most of her life. She was very caring toward her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael Ed Davis; a brother, Larry Tyo; a brother-in-law, Roy Edwards; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Tyo.

She is survived by her three children, Joyce Whisenant (Rodney), Philip Carrol Davis (Sheila), and Timothy Eugene Davis; three grandchildren, Basil, Samantha, and Miranda; one great grandchild, Chloe; and three siblings, Lloyd Tyo, Virgie Edwards, and Janice Hollifield (Jerry).

The family will hold a celebration of Brenda's life at a later date.
