In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 4, 2022, Bobby Franklin Wilson passed away at Mission Hospital-McDowell. He was born on January 7, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Jay and Janie Mae Womick Wilson.
Bobby was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, who enjoyed playing and listening to country music. He was a proud United States Army veteran and enjoyed working outside in his yard and garden. Bobby formally attended Cross Memorial Baptist Church and was warehouse manager at Helig-Meyers for over fifteen years.
Bobby was preceded in death by three brothers; Howard Wilson and Rev. Donald Wilson of Marion and Coach Glenn Wilson of Hickory.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ballew Wilson; daughter, Kimberly Camp (Steve); step daughter Diane Gallman (Jack); one sister, Edith Edwards (S.J.); grandson, Corey Camp; step grandchildren Alana Williams, Jackie Gallman and Shelly Gallman; three step great-grandchildren, Andy Owenby (Jordan), Chloe Roberts and Tyler Gallam.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service with Reverends Doug Prevette and Charles Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
