Bobby James Styles

Bobby James Styles, age 85, of Marion, passed away on the night of Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Autumn Care of Marion.  A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born October 23, 1931, he was the son of the late Lawson and Bertha Shufford Styles.  Mr. Styles is also preceded in death by his wife, Glenys Anderson Styles.

Known as a good Christian man and a very loving father and grandfather, Bobby enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of Clinchfield Baptist Church for 78 years; and was a veteran of the United States Navy. 

He is survived by three sons, Tony Styles (Louann), David Styles (Jennifer) and Keith Styles (Allison); one brother, Lawson Styles, Jr.; four grandchildren, Curtis Styles (Kristen), Allyson Kelly (Nick), Kassie Styles and Piper Styles; and four great grandchildren, Daylee Styles, Anistyn Styles, Ryder Kelly and Sawyer Kelly.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Clinchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Roach officiating.  Interment, with military honors provided by the United States Navy, will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
