Bobby McKinney

Bobby McKinney, age 76, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Burke Hospice & Palliative Care in Valdese.  He was the son of the late Shaffner McKinney and Effie Mae Gouge McKinney Patton, born December 8, 1939; Bobby was a native of McDowell County, North Carolina.

Bobby, who had more determination, loved animals and enjoyed working with flowers up until his passing.  For many years, he owned and operated Betty’s Comics in Marion.  He was a member of Eastfield Independent Baptist Church.

Just having celebrated 42 years of marriage, Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Betty McKinney of the home; one son, John Adam McKinney of Georgia; two sisters, Peggy McKinney Lewis and her husband, Jessie Wayne of Marion; and Judy Snyder Hutchins of Marion; one brother, James Edgar Richey and wife, Joyce of Marion; two nephews, Lee Charles of Marion; and Aland Hutchins of Marion; two nieces, Austine Patton of New York City; and Jessie Hutchins Bradburn of Nebo.

There will be no services held at this time.
