Billy Richard Terry

Billy Richard Terry, 66, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. Richard and his twin sister, Rachel were born January 31, 1953 to the late Ellsworth Terry and Lilly Hamby Terry.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers; Ellsworth the II, Vernon, and Kenneth Terry.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Richard enjoyed working in his garden, working with wood and fishing.  A member of Glenwood United Methodist Church, he proudly served in the United States Air Force. 

Left behind to cherish Richard’s memory are his beloved wife of 41 years, Marie Holland Terry; three sons, Jeremy Richard Terry (Elizabeth), Justin Terry (Sabrina) and Forrester Terry (Stacey); one daughter, Aliesa Marie Terry (Caine); three sisters, Nancy, Rachel and Kate; and three brothers, Mack, Will and Gene. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Christopher, Christian, Brayden, Gabriel, Levi, Lillyana, Shyenne, Karoline, Lacey, Karissa, Isabella, Rachael and Amber; two great grandchildren, Ariana and Jasper; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held Monday, November 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Burleson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation, the family has requested for those who are able to attend the service to please bring your favorite flower bulb so that the family can plant a memorial garden in Richard’s memory.
