Billy James New

Billy James New, 79, of Burnsville, North Carolina and formerly of Shallotte, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday evening, May 2, 2023 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

He was born in Sampson County on July 16, 1943 to the late Roy and Hattie New. Billy worked in auto body repair his whole life. He taught others how to paint and do auto body work. He was truly a car fanatic.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann New; two children, Billy James New, Jr. and Belinda Suzanne Stokley; all his siblings; and two great grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter, Mechelle Nonnenberg; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
