Billy Burleson

Billy Burleson, age 79, of Marion, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 09, 2017 while at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.  The son of the late Chet and Pansy Burleson, Bill was born in Mitchell County, North Carolina on May 31, 1938.

He was preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, twin brother, Bobby Lee Burleson; and one brother-in-law, Richard Long. 

A beloved brother, uncle and friend, Bill grew up in Marion and attended school at West Marion.  He was a member of West Marion Baptist Church.  Everyone who met Billy, loved him because he had a smile for everybody and had no malice toward anyone. 

He is survived by his wonderful and loving sisters, Joyce Ann Davis (John Ray) and Martha Lou Long; sister-in-law, Glenda Burleson; two nephews, Harold Ray Davis (Cynthia) and Bobby Lee Burleson (Kara); and two nieces, Dana Strickland (Mark) and Jennifer Hall (Derick).  He is also survived by five great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion.  A celebration of Bill’s life with follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Don Lawing officiating.
