Bill Miller Pyatt

Bill Pyatt, age 83, of Marion, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. A native of McDowell County, Bill was born on December 19, 1935 to the late Clyde and Annie Mae Fisher Pyatt.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jo Pyatt and a daughter-in-law, Joan Pyatt.

Bill was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge. Back in the 1950s, he enjoyed dirt track racing. Bill owned many businesses throughout his life beginning with a fruit stand at eight years old. He loved his family very much and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by three children, Billy Pyatt (Jetta) of Asheville, Jeff Pyatt of Marion and Scott Pyatt (Tracy) of Marion; two special granddaughters, Shelby and Ella Pyatt; one brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Seagle; and numerous cousins who were like siblings.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Beam Funeral Service. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Owenby officiating. Interment will take place following the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
