Betty Lee Ogle Wall

Mrs. Betty Ogle Wall, 87, of Marion, passed away peacefully Nov. 13, 2022, at Autumn Care of Marion.

Betty was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Yancey County, to the late Carmon and Belle Ogle.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Zebulon Weaver “Zeb” Wall.

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Marion for more than 58 years, serving in various roles.  Betty loved the Lord, her family, church family, and her many friends and acquaintances.  After working with American Thread and H&B Lumber Betty directed her time and energy to serving the community.  She spent three years working for the NC Department of Social Services before taking the job as Director of the Children’s Center at First Baptist of Marion. She was devoted to enriching the lives of children and their families.  She retired as Director Emeritus after more than 16 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Andrea Hardy (Amos) of Marion, grandchildren Kathryn Hardy of Marion, Morgan Hardy of Kansas City, MO, and Luke Hardy (fiancée Bridget Barrett) of Archdale; brother Billy Ogle (Linda) of Swannanoa, many family members especially three of her nephews Tommy Ogle, Scott Ogle, and Wade Wall.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 16, at First Baptist Church of Marion.  A memorial service celebrating Betty’s life will follow at 2 p.m., at the church, with the Rev.  Dr. Scott Hagaman and Rev. Terry Childers officiating.
