Betty Miller Ford

     Betty Carolyn Miller Ford, 88, of Morganton, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her residence.

     Betty was born in Watauga County, NC, on April 9, 1936, to the late Olen Carson Miller and Ella Triplett Miller. She was married to the late William “Ray” Ford. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Morganton and loved being around people. Betty was very generous to anyone in need. She loved flowers and enjoyed spending time in her garden. Most of all, she loved the Lord and loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

     In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Carpenter; a grandson, Brandon Woodie; two sisters, Brenda Miller and Faye Rhymer; and three brothers, Earl Miller, Hugh Miller, and Darrell Miller.

     Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Audrey Ford, Ramona Beach (Darren), Myra Sanders (Tony), and Danny Ford (Cynthia); a son in law, Dennis Carpenter; three sisters, Claudia Aldridge, Linda Eggers, and Leta Greene; eight grandchildren, Shea Saulmon, Stephanie Hudgins, Jeremy Carpenter, Amanda Trull, Drema Rice, Brandon Ayers, Justin Blankenship, and Brandy Woodie; twenty great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. 

     A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024  at Grace Baptist Church in Morganton, NC, with Reverend Marty Bess officiating.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tri-State Baptist Children’s Home, 1528 Vance Tank Road, Bristol, TN 37620; or Amorem Hospice, 1721 Enon Rd, Valdese, NC 28690.
