Betty Sue Davis

Betty Sue Davis, 81, of Union Mills, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Old Fort on July 7, 1941 to the late Virgil and Ethel Mason Davis.

Betty was a caregiver at heart who cared for all of her family and friends including all nine of her brothers and sisters. She retired from the McDowell Hospital. She was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. Betty was a very independent and hard-working woman who thoroughly enjoyed sitting on her front porch.  She was talented and creative, especially when working with her flowers. She enjoyed watching birds as well.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie McPeters; grandson, Michael Paul Conner; and her siblings, Paul, John, Jack, Bill, Bobby, Kenneth, Edna, Ruby, and Ellen.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Conner; granddaughters, Brittany McPeters (Halley) and Bubba McPeters; four great grandchildren, Megan Conner Hardin, Braylen “Bugger” Lawing, Alyiaha Erwin, and Isaiah Tipton; a number of nieces and nephews including special ones, Phillip Morrison, Pam Morrison, and Julie Morrison; former son-in-law and friend, Junior Conner; and her canine companion of 13 years, Amy Sue.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m.
