Bessie Mae Setzer

May 9, 1928 — October 10, 2018

 

Bessie Mae Duncan Setzer, age 90, of Nebo, while surrounded by her loved ones, passed away on the night of Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation in Nebo.  Born in McDowell County, North Carolina on May 9, 1928 to the late John and Alice Pinnix Duncan.

 

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Setzer.

 

A wonderful, caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Bessie had retired from Autumn Care of Marion; and enjoyed fishing and going on picnics. She was a former member of Cross Mill Baptist Church.

 

Bessie, who will be greatly missed, is survived by four children, Dianna Sisk (Charles), Mike Durkee (Gail), Brenda Benge and Johnny Revis (Debra Price); ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

 

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Michael Robinson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
