Bertie Jean Pool Easterling, age 73, of Forest City, North Carolina and formally of Angleton, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home in Forest City with her family by her side. A native of McDowell County, North Carolina, born on August 13, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Bertie Harris Pool.
Bertie proudly served as a volunteer at the Angleton-Danbury Hospital and was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was also a teacher's assistant for Northside Elementary School in Angleton, Texas and drove a school bus for Danbury ISD. Bertie will be remembered for her love of planting flowers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Billy Easterling; four children, Billie Jean O’Connor, Jimmy Wayne Easterling, Amy Lavern Dillahunty (Richard) and Michael Keith Easterling; one sister, Mary Ellen Trevino; ten grandchildren; and many other family members and numerous friends.
A service to honor the life of Bertie will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service in Marion with Pastor Bob Gantt officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
