Bert Stephen Blaylock

Bert Stephen Blaylock, age 55, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at his residence.  The son of the late Buddy and Shirley Taylor Blaylock, Bert was born in McDowell County, North Carolina on December 22, 1960.

Known for saying “it’s all about the music”, Bert enjoyed playing music and was a member of the Stumptown Band.  He will be remembered for the unconditional love he had for his family and friends. 

He is survived by one daughter, Misty Blaylock Jones (Steve) of St. Augustine, Florida; one son, Stephen Michael Blaylock (Chelsea) of Asheville, North Carolina; one sister, Linda McCone (Bo) of Marion, North Carolina; and seven grandchildren, Gwendolyn Jones, Tevin, Alayna, Madelyn and Liam Blaylock, Steven Jones and Tyler Glisson.  Bert is also survived by his best friend, Betty Crowe of Marion, North Carolina.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 22, 2016 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Hampton Inn, US 221 South in Marion.
