God just gained a beautiful Angel with her wings, but we had to let go of a precious lady who loved everyone. A 91-year young lady who just a few short years ago grew and tended a garden just to give the vegetables to people, fixed breakfast with gravy biscuits for the people at church. Bernice enjoyed getting all decked out to go to town, she loved to fix up. She attended Rocky Pass Free Will Baptist Church.
Born in Robbinsville, North Carolina to the late Oliver Martin and Vesta Hamilton, Bernice was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Autrey; sisters, Jean Hyde and Cordie Trull; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Autrey.
She is survived by three sons, Jack Autrey and wife Rachel, Bobby Autrey and wife Tami; and Don Autrey; one daughter, Patricia Crowder and husband Joe; one sister, Muriel Rose; four grandchildren, Ryan Autrey and wife Kerri, Shane Autrey and fiancé Andrea, Desiree Houston and husband Thomas; and Jennifer Crowder, two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
